Donor Services Coordinator I—Full-Time—Birmingham, Alabama
[Day Shift and/or Night Shift, 10–13-hour shifts are typical, 3-4 days per week]
Starting Pay: $18.27 per hour, eligible for overtime

Note: During training, new hires will work in the office. When training is complete, employees in this position have the option to work in a hybrid or remote setting. For non-local hires, the position will be entirely remote following training.

Advancing Sight Network seeks an energetic, innovative, and compassionate individual to join our team as a full-time Donor Services Coordinator I. At Advancing Sight Network, our mission is restoring sight.

Donor Services Coordinators work to facilitate organ, eye, and tissue donation used for transplants and research in the United States and around the world. Donor Services Coordinators contact donor families and conduct medical and social history interviews while coordinating with hospitals, funeral homes, and surgical recovery personnel. Excellent communication skills, empathy, and advocacy for donation are required.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Speaking with families about potential opportunities for eye and tissue donation.
  • Completing necessary paperwork with families who agree to donate.
  • Coordinating logistics of donation recovery with internal and external contacts.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated professional with these qualifications

  • Motivated to excel and meet goals.
  • Ability to interface with peers and hospital personnel.
  • Excellent telephone, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacology/medical terminology.
  • Basic knowledge of patient confidentiality laws.
  • Counseling experience preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of customer service experience is preferred.
