Communications Coordinator II—Full-Time–Birmingham, AL

Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Communications Coordinator II supports the communications team in enhancing Advancing Sight Network’s (ASN) internal and external communication efforts.  This role focuses on graphic design, social media, and various communication tasks.

Responsibilities: refer to the specific day-to-day tasks, duties, and functions that are essential to an employee’s role.  These are the “what” of the job – defining concrete actions like managing projects or overseeing processes.

 Core Responsibilities:

  • Create visually appealing graphics for digital and print materials.
  • Assist in creating compelling written and visual content for various communication channels.
  • Ensure all designs align with ASN’s brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop concepts and execute design projects.
  • Create and schedule content across various social media platforms.
  • Assist in the development of presentations, reports, and other communication materials.
  • Assist in planning and promoting ASN events and campaigns.
  • Support the communications team with administrative tasks and special projects as required.
  • Lead in designing and distributing the employee newsletter.

 Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, or related field.
  • Experience in graphic design and familiarity with design software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive and energetic attitude with a strong desire to meet goals and commitments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and consistency.

Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to travel throughout service area as required.
      • Driving for extended periods or long distances may be required.
      • Frequent periods of intense concentration, attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Ability to handle mental and physical strain involved in the use of printed materials and prolonged use of computer screens.
      • Moderate manual dexterity for basic keyboarding.
      • Long periods of sitting and/or standing may be required.
      • Ability to lift and move more than 25 pounds.
